Playfield Supports
I needed some playfield supports, and because I wanted to mount things where I did, the 'normal' ones were not a good fit.
I determined to make temporary ones, initially from wood to do the job.
The problem with the wood design is that it consumes a lot of space, and is difficult to work around. I also discovered that I need quite a bit of height as my bespoke mechanisms are quite tall.
The design I went with is simply 2 steel brackets per side [Front and Back], with a thin dowel [Wood] to rest on the front edge of the cabinet, and some [Soft] material to stop the brackets from scratching, and to act as a stop. I 3D printed the softs, but anything could do the job.
Parts
- 4 x Brackets 200x260x25x6mm white [Front and Back]
- 2 x square dowel (around 400mm each) [Wood]
- 4 x Nice little 3D printed end bits (or tape, or plastic tube, etc.) [Soft]
- 4 x Nice screws
I was surprised at how much easier it is to put the playfield into the cabinet - this should have been a day-one job.
